Loki Eliot hat ein zehnminütiges Video über SL9B gemacht. Die Geburtstagsausstellung hat sich wirklich gelohnt – wunderbare Beiträge und Events dieses Jahr. Und ich hatte geglaubt, ich hätte fast alles auf dieser Ausstellung gesehen, aber beim Betrachten des Videos stelle ich fest, dass ich noch viele gute Dinge verpasst habe.

Update: Ok, WordPress.com “verbessert die Userexperience” bis zum Hirnerweichen, weshalb ich das Video jetzt nicht einbetten kann (sicher wird es irgendwo einen willkürlichen Code dafür geben, aber egal).

Crap Mariner hat diese dem Wort gewidmete Installation auf der SL9B aufgestellt. Vorgestellt werden verschiedene Literaturprojekte in SL.

Genau das ist es, was ich seit meinen ersten Tagen in SL an der englischsprachigen Szene so sehr schätze – die Offenheit, Kollegialität und gegenseitige Unterstützung, oft verbunden mit einem wunderbaren und freundlichen Humor.

Der hier gezeigte Würfel hat mich über eine Stunde beschäftigt. Laut Standinfo handelt es sich um das älteste bekannte Prim in SL, von einem unbekannten Künstler am 25.1.2002 erstellt. Theoretisch kann es noch ältere Prims geben, denn 2001 segelte SL bereits (nicht öffentlich) unter der Flagge “Linden World” (die einen stärker martialischen Fokus hatte, auf den wir uns mit Pathfinding ja möglicherweise wieder zu bewegen).

Immer wieder hört man ja von der Suche nach dem ältesten Prim. Wie ist die derzeitige Besitzerin, Marianne McCann, wohl in den Besitz des Würfels gelangt?

The Roadside Philosophers have their think tank at SL9B, too. Nice building mimicking the natural environment for philosophers. The meetings of the Roadside Philosophers are usually under the sea. You know, going deep, octopus’s garden, enjoying flow and freedom, diving into things and stuff – philosophers are up to no good.

Now this is one ugly building. Wait! What a fool I am.

Time Tunnel tells the story of the early Second Life years – as we users experienced them. Everyone will relate to that. I was touched to see a lot of things and sims long gone, stories of people, ideas, and problems. My philosophy is that it’s not psychic to remember the good old days – if there was so much fun and creativity and love. And, oh yes, shoes up the ass and griefers.

Time Tunnel is a contribution to the narrative we all create in and about SL – a must see. Go there and grab cool old stuff – like the missing texture pants, shoes up the ass and a box on the head.

Builder Caro Fayray daydreaming in her exhibit “Nascent Nebulae” on SL9B.

I tried to blog from here for days, but WordPress (or BlogHud) wouldn’t let me.

Anyways, this is one of the outstanding exhibits with an astronomical theme. And it’s fun. Caro Fayray told me that she’s addicted to play around with textures, particles and interactivity. She applied that very well to nebulae, planets and all that space stuff.
